Stroller? Pram? Baby Buggy? Baby Car?

What a great word for moving the little ones around. The pram is known by many names depending on where you find yourself on our planet. The most popular term in Japan right now is the "Baby Car". Fairly appropriate when you consider the original Japanese word for this device was the "nursing-mother-car" or "ubaguruma".
As most English speaking countries are starting to move away from the pram and baby buggy (these are great if you push your baby from home and back...but they really don't fit in the modern compact car and don't fold very well) It is far more common to hear people using their Stroller or Push Chair. In Japan, the Baby Car.

今赤ちゃん役に立つベビーカーは和製英語です！アメリカとイギリスとかはたぶん言うってもわかるけど、もともとそちらでは「ストローラー（米）」と「プッシュチェア（英）」。昔のベビーカーは「バギー」と「プラム」と呼ばれました。＜BR> 何が違うというと、プラムは４車輪が大きくて、赤ちゃんが寝ている状態で…今のストローラーは座っている状態です。アメリカではストローラーをバギーという人もいる。
